Our Kava Farm on Qamea Island, Fiji
Every Qamea Kava product starts on one family farm on Qamea Island, a small volcanic island off Taveuni in Fiji. We grow it, harvest it and prepare it ourselves.
Read Our StoryWhere Qamea Kava comes from
Qamea Kava is grown on our own family farm on Qamea Island, Fiji, a small volcanic island just off Taveuni. We grow 100% Noble Fijian Kava (Piper methysticum) there, harvest it by hand and prepare every root ourselves. Nothing is bought through brokers or blended with Kava from other islands, so every bag and every kilo can be traced back to one farm.
Pasillio, our farmer, friend and the heart of the farm, and his family call Qamea home. Kava plants grow beneath the island’s tropical canopy for four years or more before the roots are harvested, because the roots are what matter and good Kava takes time.
After harvest, every batch is lab-tested. Across five independent tests from 2021 to 2026 our Kava averaged about 14% total Kavalactones (range 10.0–17.24%), with a noble Kavalactone profile. Fresh root is then air-freighted from Fiji every month. See the lab results.

Growing
Four years beneath the canopy
Kava is a slow crop. Our plants grow in Qamea’s rich volcanic soil and tropical rain for four years or more before harvest, building up the roots that give Kava its character.
We only grow Noble Kava, the traditional varieties Fijians have prepared for generations.
Harvest
Harvested by hand, prepared on the farm
When the roots are ready, they’re lifted by hand, cleaned and prepared on the farm. Because we do it ourselves, we know exactly where every batch came from and how it was handled.
Then every harvest goes to the lab before it reaches you. How we test →
