The science
The science behind Qamea Kava
Every harvest is independently lab tested. Here’s what’s actually in the root — and why our profile drinks the way it does.
Our chemotype
4·3·6·2·5·1
The chemotype is the order of the six main kavalactones by abundance. Ours leads with the kavalactones traditionally linked to a balanced, uplifting calm — relaxed and social, not heavily sedative.
Dihydrokavain
Traditionally associated with a calm, relaxing effect.
Kavain
Linked to a lifted mood and relaxation without heavy sedation.
Yangonin
Associated with a mild, mood-enhancing lift.
Dihydromethysticin
Traditionally linked to calm and relaxation.
Methysticin
Associated with a settled, muscle-relaxing calm.
Desmethoxyyangonin
Linked to a mild, sociable, uplifting note.
Tested, every harvest.
We only grow and sell Noble Fijian Kava, and every harvest is independently lab tested before it ships — so what’s on the label is what’s in the bag.
